Doctor Strange 2 is among the many Marvel movies fans are enthusiastically looking forward to. Even though MCU’s Phase 4 has already started, Cumberbatch’s film will propel fans deeper into it as it will show Dr. Stephen Strange opening the multiverse and unleashing irrevocable danger.
With the pandemic putting a stop to the world, the Hollywood industry wasn’t spared either. Many projects either completed filming amid hiccups or were delayed indefinitely for a long time. Marvel got entangled in the vicious habit of pushing the release dates for multiple movies, including Doctor Strange, months further.
In the tug of war between a raging pandemic and equally resilient Hollywood, productions suffered with shoots and reshoots to maintain coherence. Doctor Strange was no exception to this Covid trend.
Marvel postponed Doctor Strange 2’s release from March 25, 2022, to May 2022. Whether the cause of postponement is additional reshoots or the delays in filming haven’t been officially stated.
Meanwhile, Cumberbatch did hint that the sequel would be Marvel’s most ambitious superhero project while getting back at Tom Holland for his statement on the upcoming Spider-Man movie.
