Cobra Kai Season 5: How Miguel and Robby Reconcile Their Differences

Robby and Miguel have been the fiercest rivals in Cobra Kai, and there’s a lot of emotion involved in this. On one hand, Robby detests Miguel because he is close to his father. On the other hand, Miguel just found the hatred and entitlement too jarring.

The two have fought on multiple occasions across various seasons, but over the last season, it felt as if they were heading somewhere in terms of their reconciliation. So, do Miguel and Robby fight again? Do they reconcile their differences?

Miguel and Robby enter a face-off monitored by Johnny. When Robby is backed against the railing, Miguel stops himself from pushing his opponent down. The two later express their emotions and reconcile their differences.

The rivalry between these two characters is a classic trope we see in cinema and content. Johnny being Miguel’s teacher and father figure, always wanted him to become the best version of himself.

However, he didn’t want Robby to be left behind either because he was his son. This predicament is depicted in the classic Cobra Kai style.

When the two faced off in the tournament, the scene reminded Johnny of his days when he fought Daniel LaRuzzo. While Miguel wins the fight, Johnny is conflicted, creating a rift between the three characters.

The second significant fight was in school; we all know how that turned out. Miguel was pushed down multiple floors and suffered a serious back injury. He couldn’t walk after that, let alone fight.

For the first time, Robby could see the repercussions of his actions. This arc slowly progresses throughout Season 4, and in Season 5, we see its culmination. With Carmen being pregnant with Johnny’s baby, he needs the two boys to come together and unite.

After multiple failed attempts, he decides that the two should enter a final face-off. What starts as a simple fight ends with Miguel putting Robby in the same spot the latter put him in before breaking his back.

Clearly, Miguel has the upper hand and is about to push his biggest rival from the first floor, but something stops him. He rememebers what he had to go through and doesn’t want the same for Robby.

The two sort out their differences and end up becoming friends and brothers. In fact, the two are even happy for Johnny and Carmen and their pregnancy.
