The tree house is complete in episode 12 of Do It Yourself!, titled “DIY’ Means Do Friendship, Always and Forever!”. Summer Vacation started, which meant a tearful farewell to Jobko as she goes back to America. The treehouse also managed to attract the first of the new club recruits.
Purin comes up with the design for the swing for their treehouse, and Serufu helps her to finish it. The girls get nostalgic as they remember old memories. The story comes to a close with our two precious leads, just like it started.

Episode 13 Speculation
The anime won’t have a new episode as it has ended. The studio might release a spin-off or season two, depending on the popularity of the series. Till then, we will be happy with the incredibly endearing and warm-hearted ending we got!

Episode 12 Recap
Rei entrusts the last screw of the tree house to Serufu as she tells her she feels grateful that Serufu put the screw on Rei’s shelf, the first time they met, which eventually led to the events of the present. The tree house is complete! Everyone compliments each other for their huge efforts to make it a reality.
Summer Vacation is about to start. The girls celebrate the completion of the secret hideout and a farewell party for Jobko. Everyone gives farewell gifts to Jobko. She gets teary-eyed but tries to play it off. They tell Jobko she can come back anytime.
As they look at their tree house, Jobko dejectedly remarks that they still don’t have new club members. Even though their club won’t be able to get funding anymore because of a lack of members, they are optimistic that they can work it out. Suddenly, two students come to inquire about the club, and it looks like the girls won’t have to worry about members after all.
Back at her place, Purin helps Jobko pack her suitcases. Purin’s mother comes to hand over a gift to Jobko, which she is ecstatic about. Jobko tells her she will send some contractors to take down her hammock from Purin’s room but she replies that she doesn’t have to and she is welcome back anytime which makes Jobko incredibly happy. She thanks her for everything.
As they are finishing up the packing, Purin tells Jobko she will be lonely without her and her honesty makes her surprised. Purin answers it’s all right, to be honest, sometimes. Jobko tells her that, though the tree house doesn’t look anything like the one she made with her mom as a kid, the fun she had while making it was the same, perhaps even more.
Jobko reveals that the reason she came to Japan was to get away from her father, who became depressed and stopped talking to her after her mother passed away. She is more optimistic now and says she will tell her father everything about the hideout when she reaches home.
As they are being honest, Purin tells her that she likes being friends with Serufu, even though she may be clumsy and inconsiderate sometimes.
Jobko boards the plane, and everyone gives her silent goodbye. Purin brings Serufu to the club room, despite it being a vacation. She reminds her that they still haven’t gotten a swing for their tree house, and thus she designed one so that they can make it together. They pulled some more boards from the old club room and also used the wood from their old bench.
The swing is beautifully completed, and they sit down together as they reminisce about old memories. Purin works up her courage to thank Serufu for inviting her to be part of the club. She also jogs up Serufu’s memory of the time she wanted to make a secret hideout when they were kids and how she wanted to hang up the wind chime Purin made for her.
Serufu doesn’t remember but assures Purin that she still has her wind chime as it was something given to her by her dear friend and she treasures it. She tells her she will go get it so they can hang it together. However, Purin tells her that since she treasures it, she should keep it.
Purin pulls out some stones she picked up from their beach trip and tells Serufu they can just make a new wind chime for the hideout. They happily cheer.
The wind chime tinkles gently in the air as the camera zooms in on a picture frame inside with all the club members together.

Do It Yourself is an original anime series by studio PINE JAM. Kazuhiro Yoneda is directing the anime, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is penning down the series script.
The anime will follow the daily adventures of Purin and her five school friends who find joy in working on various DIY projects. No matter how much they struggle or how many times they fail, they don’t give up and see the projects through to their end.
