Disney’s Avengers Campus is coming along well, according to an update shared by Disneyland President Ken Potrock. Although the theme park is not ready for visitation yet, it has been reported that the experiences offered to the fans when it does open will be more than enough to compensate for the late opening.
The Avengers Campus is a themed area based on the Marvel Comics characters and its MCU film counterparts. It was announced in 2019 for Disneyland California and was also extended for the Paris and Hong Kong parks. The area was scheduled to open in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic and its ensuing lockdown have delayed the opening. Currently, it is under construction and is scheduled to be inaugurated sometime in late 2021.
From the beginning, Avengers Campus has promised an immersive and interactive experience for fans. One of its top-most attractions is Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, which will have Tom Holland voicing the ride. Pym’s Kitchen is another attraction that has been announced for the theme park. Interactive experiences with fan-favorite superheroes like Black Panther and Black Widow will also be present.
However, visitors will not get to see anything related to the Thanos Snap as Avengers: Infinity War has been excluded from the theme park.
In a letter to the Disneyland cast members, Potrock has written:
I’m pleased to report that Avengers Campus is making incredible progress. From the futuristic architecture, theatrical lighting, unique audio, creative food, beautiful costuming, and innovative merchandise, the land will be an immersive experience that we know our guests are going to love. And while we aren’t ready to reveal Avengers Campus to the world just yet, I am excited about another very special opportunity we have at Disney California Adventure Park that speaks to our top priorities: getting more cast members back to work and engaging with our guests in different and relevant ways.
Ken Potrock
It seems like Avengers Campus will be another one of Marvel’s neverending success stories!
What do you think? Would you visit Avengers Campus?
