Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Ahsoka getting her show with Anakin hinting at a major possibility of Obi-Wan? You know we’re going to be glued to our screens when it releases.
In a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, it has been confirmed that Hayden Christensen is reprising his role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the 2021 Ahsoka series. He previously showed exemplary performance of crossing to the dark side in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith movies in the early 2000s.
With Anakin returning, fans can expect to see the student-mentor relationship brought to life as the timeline is set to that of The Mandalorian, years after The Return Of Jedi.
As this is a stand-alone Ahsoka show, they will have to go deep down into her history, and loyal fans know the trio – Anakin (before crossing over to the dark side), Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan – have learned great things from each other.
Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson, is a former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, who, in turn, was an apprentice of Obi-Wan. The Master’s Master will have to feature in the show to build a seamless storyline of Ahsoka’s development.
Christensen will be playing Anakin Skywalker before Ahsoka’s release in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series in January 2022. The show will also see Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan.
Both Christensen and McGregor play critical characters in the Star Wars universe. Showing Ahsoka’s growth will show both the characters being in their prime, educating her of the world’s ways.
Even Star Wars: The Clone Wars showed multiple scenes of the trio spending time and even Ahsoka raising her voice to Obi-Wan, something she couldn’t have done as a mere apprentice.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s appearance hasn’t been confirmed, but fans (and us) hope that they give Ahsoka a good story, including all the important people in her life.
Production for Ahsoka is expected to start in early 2022.
