In a special treat for this mid-quarantine Mother’s Day, Disney decided to bring back its popular Family Singalong on Sunday, May 10.
In addition to giving a tribute to mothers around the world as the primary caregivers in these tough times, the hour-long show also sought to give a wonderful distraction for all those stuck at homes, dorms, in another city or even another country.
Where can you watch it?
Which brings us to where all the show aired and where can it now be streamed. While the show was set to be aired on ABC, it was also available on the streaming platform Hulu.
Disney+ is yet to announce a premiere date for the show, but we can expect it soon.
Sunday’s show was the second part of Disney Family Singalong after the first part in April. Ryan Seacrest hosts the American TV show.
It is a nationwide singalong event featuring celebrities and their families as they take on their favorite Disney tunes from their homes. The videos have onscreen lyrics allowing viewers to sing along.
Of course, highlights of the episodes are available to see on YouTube as well.
From Katy Perry singing Baby of Mine from the beloved Jumbo to John Legend teaming up with Jennifer Hudson to belt out Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beast, treats were aplenty. Halsey’s tribute to her favorite Little Mermaid came with beautiful crimson tresses and power-packed vocals as she sang Part of your World.
Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and Donald Glover had a special tribute to The Lion King in Hakunamatata.
However, Keke Palmer’s Zero To Hero, played out along with the cast of Dancing with The Stars, was the highlight. The clip featured cameos from two of the dancers’ dogs and ended with Keke’s mom, who was on a video call through the video.
Sweetly dissing the singer, was dressed in a beautiful blue one-shoulder gown, her mom asked her to re-do the song with a little more energy for the real show!
Other performers included Christina Aguilera, Josh Gad, Chloe x Halle, Derek Hough, Idina Menzel, Miguel, Tituss Burgess, and Sabrina Carpenter.
