Discover hidden bosses using Loong Scales — Black Myth: Wukong Guide

Black Myth: Wukong is a fantastic piece of art! It requires your utmost attention and an eager sense of discovery. Within the course of the game, you will come across many hidden items. It is not so easy to obtain them. Don’t be surprised if you go the other way round!

The Loong Scales are one such key item. It is essential to find secret bosses in Black Myth: Wukong. You can use the item to kill Loong dragons and unlock new weapons and gear.

How to obtain the Loong Scales in Black Myth: Wukong?

Go to the Valley of Despair Shrine after defeating the Second Prince of Flowing Sands. Head inside the cave where you will fight against the First Prince of Flowing Sands. Make sure the boss breaks the ornate wall in the arena, creating a gaping hole. Once the fight is over, enter through the wall to find a golden chest. The Loong Scales will be inside it.

You will encounter the Second Prince of Flowing Sands at the Sandgate Village in Chapter 2.

Start at the Village Entrance Keeper’s Shrine and cross the bridge. Take a right turn.

Walk through the village outskirts. The boss arena is right past the gate.

Here’s how to beat the Second Prince of Flowing Sands!

  • Destroy the pillars the Prince is standing upon. Trick him into attacking the pillars, bringing him down.
  • Do not kill the King of Flowing Sands before defeating the Prince. Doing so will send the latter into a frenzied state. It will only make the battle much more difficult. The King will occasionally hit you with rocks.
  • In any case, maintain a distance from the Prince to safely dodge his attacks. This will open up a window for you to get offensive.

Right after defeating the Second Prince of Flowing Sands, you will face your next boss from the royal family of Flowing Sand.

The previous match will determine how this boss fight will take place. If you defeated the King first, use the Pungent Flesh Chunk to summon the First Prince. Alternatively, if you had eliminated the Second Prince first, the King would escape and summon the First Prince.

The First Prince will slay the King upon being summoned so you won’t have to fight him again.

Here’s how to beat the First Prince of Flowing Sands!

You have to make sure the Prince attacks the ornate wall. Only when the wall is cracked will you be able to enter the secret passageway.

If you fail to do so, use the Wandering Wight spirit to crack it open.

Find intervals between the Prince’s attacks to land a severe blow. The First Prince is slow but powerful so dodge his attacks by constantly being on the move.

The Prince might occasionally do a swipe attack. It is much faster and is unpredictable. Due to the small arena, you will be within attack range. Use the Cloud Step spell to move quickly.
