A new video from behind the scenes of Young Sheldon season 6 makes the touching conversation between Sheldon and Missy in episode 16 even more special.
The show is nearing its end for the year and some storylines are reaching their climax. But the writers of Young Sheldon still managed to give the Cooper twins a wonderful moment of sibling connection.
The director Kabir Akhtar shared on social media that this was also the last scene that Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord filmed together.
The post by Akhtar includes several behind the scenes photos from episode 17.
He also shared a video of Armitage and Revord shooting the touching Sheldon and Missy scene, and a voice off-camera announces it’s the “2022 wrap” for the pair of actors.
In the new episode of Young Sheldon season 6, Missy’s bold escapade continues, where she tries to drive to Florida illegally with Paige. Fortunately, they are caught, and their parents come to get them.
But for Missy, this means she’s stuck at home for a long time. Even though Sheldon is very strict about rules, it is sweet that he helps his sister catch up on 90210 since she isn’t allowed to watch TV.
With most of the attention on Georgie’s birthday in this episode, it’s nice that the makers give the Cooper twins a chance to shine again.
The duo hasn’t worked together for a long time, and even though they had a rocky relationship in The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon shows that they were pretty close as kids.
As a family sitcom, the show should keep doing this, especially since Missy helps Sheldon stay grounded, and their chemistry is unique.
Season 7 may be the last season of Young Sheldon as it approaches a logical conclusion.
However, with another Big Bang Theory spin-off in development, maybe the rebranded streaming service Max can keep the show going after Sheldon leaves for Pasadena and George dies.
Missy and Georgie would be ideal to lead what would basically be The Coopers, if the makers want to keep exploring Young Sheldon’s world.
