Vampire and day-walker Colin Robinson had quite a complicated death towards the end of What We Do in the Shadows Season 3. The horror-comedy-mockumentary series has been winning hearts for a while, so I was wondering what his strange death could mean for Season 4.
The way Colin died and then took rebirth was quite creepy, considering he became an adult baby now.
In the penultimate episode of Season 3, Colin Robinson dies, but not for long. A creepy-looking baby with Colin’s head on it crawled out of Colin’s dead body, most likely implying his return or rebirth.
Here’s everything we know about Colin’s death and return as of now.
Did Colin Robinson die?
Yes, Colin Robinson dies temporarily in Season 3 of What We Do in the Shadows. However, he returns pretty soon, as a baby crawling out of his own dead body.
In the penultimate episode of Season 3, Colin was celebrating his 100th birthday. But unfortunately, he dies on the same day, all of a sudden. Lazlo revealed that Colin died on his 100th birthday because vampires have a life-span of 100 years. Apparently, he hid this fact from Colin.
However, the mourning does not last long as Colin returns. Yes, Mark Proksch, who plays Colin, will still continue to be a series regular in the show as nu-Colin.
Does Colin Robinson return?
Yes! Just after Colin’s death, a strange-looking baby crawls out of Colin’s dead body, having Colin’s head. So, Colin was reborn just after his apparent death. This is because he was an “energy” vampire.
I am not sure if this means Colin is actually immortal, since Lazlo had earlier explained that vampires have energy to live for a century. Most probably, Colin is now reborn for yet another century, but as a baby.
Season 4 is ongoing right now, and nu-Colin or baby Colin is very much a regular in the series. In fact, the baby is growing at quite a quick pace, and we can expect him to be a complete adult by the end of this season.
Season 4 will deal with whether Colin’s fate is inevitable, or Lazlos can stop him from being an energy vampire. As of now, Lazlos is bringing baby Colin up as a new human being.
