I. Anxious Sawamura

Chapter 222, titled “Appeal,” begins with Nori’s check-up, his team anxiously waits for the results, wondering if he would be able to play in the semi-finals. Hideki tells Sawamura not to push himself, as Sawamura keeps watching their opponents play repeatedly.

On the other hand, Zono peeks at the injury on his leg while sitting outside the doctor’s office. The next day, Nori’s results come out, and the teachers and captain were informed that even though the x-ray showed no abnormalities, the chances for muscle or tendon damage were high, and the doctor recommended a thorough check-up.

II. Nori’s heartfelt plea!

The teachers discuss with each other that it was pleasant that Furuya and Tanba noticed his injury quickly and recommended check-up. They feel it wouldn’t be too reliable to depend only on Nori after this incident.

Still, Nori announces that he did not feel any pain or discomfort, so he would get ready in the bullpen tomorrow as all his efforts that year was in preparations for this summer! He appeals to the teachers not to disclose this information to anyone.

Miyuki tries to convince him not to go through with the game as it could lead to permanent damage to his shoulder, but Nori refutes saying he was determined to bet his baseball life and career on this game.

Ace of Diamond, also known as Diamond no Ace, is a Japanese shōnen baseball manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Terajima and published by Kodansha. Weekly Shōnen Magazine has serialized it from 2006 to 2015.

A sequel titled Ace of Diamond Act II started in 2015. The series follows one Eijun Sawamura, a baseball pitcher with a very unusual changeup pitch that has occurred naturally. Sawamura plans to go with his friends to a local high school and play baseball to the best of their abilities.

However, one scout from the prestigious Seidou High approaches him and offers him a scholarship and a chance to make it to the nationals. Sawamura decides to pay a visit to the school, and it changes his entire outlook on the future.
