Spooky Season is onto us, and many games have updates planned to celebrate Halloween. Developing Studios Blizzard also has something under the hood designed for the fans of Diablo IV.
At the Diablo IV Developer Update streamed on October 4th,, developers at Blizzard studios revealed that Diablo IV will no longer be a Battle.net exclusive on PC and will be available on Steam starting October 17th, when the upcoming Season of Blood goes live on the Diablo IV servers.
However, it must be remembered that despite Diablo IV being launched from Steam, the players will require a Battle.net account. They clarified that a Battle.net will be necessary to reap all the benefits of the cross-platform play.
Diablo IV will be the second title by developers Blizzard Studios to be on Steam, the first being Overwatch 2. However, many fans fear Diablo IV, which has a relatively positive review, will be review-bombed upon its inclusion on Steam.
Something similar happened to Overwatch 2 when it was released on Steam. Diablo IV will be more prone to review bombing because of its rather hefty pricing.
On top of this, a massive chunk of Diablo IV fans are leaving the game. This is because of the inadequate number of bosses and rewards and rare rewards in the current Season of Malignant.
This has the developers scrambling, and many fans are prepared for an under-whelming Season of Blood, and that is why even the new changes are not enough to have the players commit to the game.
The Level Scaling changes that arrived a few weeks back also did not help the cause of the players who were fed up with the title. This is mainly because players were forced to go through the Nightmare Dungeons to level up their characters past Level 75.
In the Season of Blood, developers are bringing out leaderboards for Nightmare Dungeons to raise up the hype for the game, which was marked by a sharp 98% decrease in viewership on Twitch.
Blizzard is hopeful that they can make amends. On October 17th, we will find out if the changes in Season of Blood will be enough to satiate the hunger of the demanding community that Diablo IV boasts of.
