Diablo IV is buggy in early access period with long queue and login issues

As per Blizzard’s announcement, Diablo IV’s early access went live on June 1st. This was available to the players who had purchased the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.

Already, several threads have cropped up on Reddit regarding the bugs that players are experiencing in the Diablo IV early access. The primary issue is during logging in, in the form of licensing issues on PlayStation 4, 5, and Xbox. PC users reported difficulty in logging into Diablo IV’s client – Battle.net. Another major issue faced is the long queue times.

This shows that the login issues aren’t localized to a particular operating system or platform. A Reddit mega thread is open currently, with players interacting and trying to figure out a workaround for the licensing issue.

One of the solutions suggested that worked for a group of gamers was downloading a free game to refresh the licenses. A subsequent launch of Diablo IV seemed to fix the issue.

Another issue that plagues players, specifically on PC, is the lack of WASD support on Diablo IV. Many players are baffled by its removal after its introduction in Diablo Immortal.

The executive producer of the franchise, Rod Ferguson, addressed the issue saying they are aware that there’s no WASD support and asked players to give the “controller support a shot.”

Most players did not take this well, as playing with a mouse is very unheard of and is quite difficult. These and many more issues plague Diablo IV as of now.

This gives players all the more reason to be skeptical about downloading additional paid content in the form of DLCs for Diablo IV. However, Blizzard, as proactive as ever, has taken note of the login issues and is working towards a fix ASAP.

With the official launch of Diablo IV imminent on 5th June at 4 pm PDT, the developers must make quick moves to fix the queueing and login issues. They must do everything in their power to make sure that the loyal Diablo fanbase, who have already paid a good amount to get early access, isn’t left disappointed when the game officially launches.
