The new ventures of Kratos and his son, Atreus, across the bloodthirsty nine realms were slated to arrive this year, but given the lack of updates from Santa Monica, enthusiasts were worried that it would not be the case.
The fact that director Cody Barlog went on to say yesterday that God of War Ragnarok’s footage isn’t ready to be shown further gave birth to worries that the next entry in the series would be delayed.
Speaking of God of War Ragnarok, the elephant in the room… We haven’t said a lot about this – that’s because everybody is heads down, hard at work. We are perfectionists. Everyone’s tightening up the graphics on level three, there is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown.

But thankfully, according to what a developer of this much-anticipated title has to say, it looks like Ragnarok will be able to hit its release window.
Bruno Velasquez, Sony Santa Monica Animation Director, reassured a fan about God of War Ragnarok’s release date on Twitter by claiming that the title is scheduled to roll out this year only.
If Ragnarok, as Velasquez says, is on the horizon, then it’s high time for Sony to provide enthusiasts with further updates and kick-start its marketing campaign.
Given that it’s May already in a few days, one must expect the upcoming action-adventure sequel to receive a new trailer or a specific release date soon.
Even a State of Play dedicated to God of War Ragnarok will do a world of favor to anyone who’s been aching to get more information on the title.
As of now, we can just hope for all the assurances that Velasquez has provided to be true because, given how dynamic the industry is, plans can always change due to unprecedented circumstances.
Nonetheless, it’s fantastic to see Santa Monica being confident of meeting everyone’s expectations, which are sky-high in 2022 only.
About God of War: Ragnarok
Set after the events of 2018’s God of War, God of War: Ragnarok is the next chapter in the story. A teaser trailer has been announced for the game, but not much else. The title suggests that we are going to witness the fall of the Norse pantheon of gods, as Ragnarok is the death of everything in Norse mythology. Kratos and Atreus will be making a return and facing off against several of the Norse gods as they fight to create a place for themselves within the world.
