Bungie has been somewhat focused on the PvE experience of Destiny 2 with frequent upgrades over the years. On the other hand, the game’s multiplayer gameplay modes have been somewhat neglected. Luckily, there’s a fix coming soon.
In a blog post, Bungie confirmed that new content will be released soon related to Destiny 2’s core PvP mode, the Crucible.
Players can expect a new PvP map, launching during the year of Lightfall, and two classic maps reimagined in a new format. A new Crucible Seal featuring the title of “Glorious” will also be introduced.
The legendary headcanon, Rose, and new cosmetic items will be making a return as rewards via the Competitive Division ranked PvP system. Destiny 1’s iconic Taken King-era Iron Banner armor sets, consisting of knight-themed armors and new weapons, will also be available for grabs.
The news had been circulating among multiple developer blogs before Bungie finally confirmed the news. Destiny 2 is said to be one of the best non-COD shooter games right now and fans were surprised at the lack of updates since it is such a popular title. However, Bungie has laid out its future plans for Destiny 2 in a detailed article.
Fans are really looking forward to Season 19 of Destiny 2. Along with new PvP content, it will also feature an all-new dungeon. It is said to be similar but a little smaller than Raids, and will consist of moderate level puzzles and mechanical challenges.
According to rumors, Bungie might be developing a Marathon revival to compete with Escape from Tarkov and Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s DMZ mode. Hopefully, we’ll get more details on this soon.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
