Anti-Champion mods for Destiny 2 are still facing issues.

Bungie had released Anti-Champion mods for Destiny 2’s Champion enemies. However, it was recently brought to light that many of these mods are just not working as expected.

Redditor u/Rexiem has discovered that many of the Anti-Champion mods can straight up be a nuisance for the players, instead of helping them.

It has been stated that the Anti-Champion mods, under Destiny 2’s latest building crafting systems, are suffering from the old tech debt. While the mods fixed costs before the launch of the Lightfall DLC, the reduction in price for the Seasonal Artifact perks on screen isn’t reflected in the back end. Less than necessary energy disables the mod without any information to the player.

The worst part, as reported by Rexiem, is that the issues crop up only under certain circumstances and hence, are highly unreproducible. This makes the dysfunctional mods more notorious, often going under the developers’ radar.

An in-depth guide was provided by Rexiem where it was stated in detail under what circumstances some of the anti-champ mods go stale and stop working.

A way to make sure none of it fails was also suggested. It was stated that removing dual siphon mods, harmonic mods, and any other “discounted” mods does the trick, along with freeing up some energy.

A more shocking observation was that choice of “super” also affects the disability of mods. It was observed that the “double firebolt” mod was disabled when “burning maul” was equipped. A simple swap activated it again.

The community has now seen the severity of the issue, it is expected that the developers at Bungie will take hold of the situation and get back to the working bench to ensure smooth gameplay mechanics.

Thus, it makes all the more sense that the Tormentors and the Hive Lightbearers are the future, with many players feeling that Tormentors are excellent combatants due to aggression and flexibility.

While Regular Champion opponents aren’t quite the threat, it makes all the more sense to fix the game’s mods as soon as possible to ensure proper gameplay experience, given that Bungie seems to want to keep the Champions around.
