The fight shows a new final phase in episode 7 of Demon Slayer season 3 titled “Awful Villain.”

As the four emotions were kept at bay, and Tanjiro chased after the primary body, the demon of Fear. He uses his flaming sword to launch a powerful attack, nearly slicing through the neck before he runs out of both time and energy as well as luck.

Being struck by a shocking attack from behind, he finds that this fight against an Upper Rank will only end slowly with greater risk to his life. Meanwhile, Tokito finally manages to get through his cage, not just the physical one.

1. Episode 8 Speculation: 

With Tokito blasting out of the water prison using his Mist Breathing: Second Form, he will now be able to fight Gyokko, who is just inches away from murdering Haganezuka right in front of him. Tokito will likely save him at the perfect time and recover his new sword.

Tanjiro is now up against the demon of Fear, and this fight will be much more complicated than all four demons combined. However, he is not alone in this fight and will have the support of both Genya, who is nearly immortal, as well as Nezuko, with her demon blood arts.

With his flaming sword at the neck of the demon of Fear, Tanjiro struggles to slice the demon’s head off completely. As he tries to muster all his strength to follow his sword through, the demon of Hatred appears behind him with a surprise attack.

The Anger Demon absorbed the other three and transformed into this final beast facing Tanjiro and Genya in battle. Surrounding the main body in a protective shell, the mere aura of its hatred overwhelms and makes them speechless.

Trembling with terror, Tanjiro talks to the demon, questioning his logic in calling them villains. However, its words piss Tanjiro, making his anger take over any ounce of Fear in his body. Finally, moving from words to swordplay, the attack begins.

Tokito remains in the water prison as Gyokko taunts him from the outside and goes back into his vase. Tokito sees a vision of Tanjiro questioning why he would ever assume the future, and within the workshop, Haganezuka continues carving the katana. 

Determined to break his concentration, Gyokko slashes him till he bleeds all over his body, but the master craftsman continues without a flinch. The vision reassures Tokito that he has the strength to win this. However, he has already given up.

Kotetsu desperately tries to get Tokito out of the water bubble, but it won’t budge at all, and an attack comes from behind as he gets stabbed at a vital point. With his last efforts, he blows bubbles of air into the cage for Tokito to breathe and slash out of prison with Mist Breathing, Second form.
