In episode 9, titled “Defeating an Upper Rank Demon,” the fierce fight with the Upper Rank Six demons continued. Gyutaro almost killed Hinatsuru, but Tanjiro saved her in time.
Tanjiro and the Sound Hashira got a chance to behead Gyutaro but was countered by the demon. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke teamed up and severed Daki’s head.
Inosuke got stabbed unexpectedly, and Tanjiro found Tengen on the ground defeated. In the end, Tanjiro thought the events wouldn’t end in such a way if he hadn’t left the Sound Hashira’s side.

Episode 10 Discussion and Speculations
The Entertainment District arc keeps getting better with each episode that comes by. It seems the arc is almost at its climax, and I hope we get to see the most remarkable breakthrough with the slayers.
Things are looking bad for the slayers with the Upper Six siblings. Is this the end for the slayers? Will the Sound Hashira survive from such an attack? Will we see an unexpected turn of events next?
As Tanjiro said, ‘Never give up.’ We will see him face the Upper Six demons in the next episode. We can only speculate if the Sound Hashira would make a surprise attack to help with the fight.
With the demon slayers inflating the district, they are bound to encounter unexpected situations. Let’s wait and see how the following episodes progress.

Episode 9 Recap
This episode continues the fierce battle with the Sound Hashira and the slayers against Gyutaro and Daki. Hinatsuru watching the fight recalls when Tengen and the wives visited to pay respects at the Uzui Family gravestone.
She snaps back into the battle and finds Gyutaro using Blood Demon Art: Rotating Circular Slashes. Saving Tanjiro from the attack, the Sound Hashira counters it with his Sound Breathing Technique.
Tengen then finds Gyutaro next to Hinatsuru and can’t save her due to Daki’s Obi blocking his way. With Hinatsuru in danger, Tanjiro combines Hinokami Kagura with his Water Breathing Technique to increase mobility and save her.
Gyutaro gets annoyed by Tanjiro’s surprise attack and goes to kill him. Tengen, expressing his gratitude to Tanjiro for saving his wife, makes it close to Gyutaro to behead him. At the same time, Tanjiro moves in to slice the demon’s neck to be helpful in any way.
Unfortunately, Gyutaro blocked both the attacks and stopped the third attack by rotating his head. Gyutaro goes for another Blood Demon Art forcing Tanjiro to step back and let Tengen take the demon head-on.
The Sound Hashira and the Upper Six get into an intense battle on the ground. Tanjiro then finds Inosuke and Zenitsu struggling to land an attack on Daki due to her Obi. Even though the trio is backed to a corner, they plan to attack Daki from multiple directions.
Inosuke takes it to himself to behead the demon because he wields two blades. With the help of Tanjiro and Zenitsu, Inosuke cuts Daki’s head with his Breast Breathing Techniques. Inosuke then takes Daki’s head and runs away so it won’t reattach itself to the body.
Thinking one demon is dealt with, Inosuke tells the slayers to help Tengen fight Gyutaro. Everything seemed fine until Gyutaro stabs Inosuke in the chest, taking Daki’s head. Tanjiro is astonished and wonders why the demon is here already.
In despair, he looks around for Tengen and finds him on the floor with his hand cut off. Given the devastation he’s facing, Tanjiro didn’t see Daki’s attack approaching. Zenitsu pushes him away from the attack causing Tanjiro to fall off the roof.
Tanjiro thinks all this wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t leave Tengen’s side in the falling state. He feels disheartened that things are turning out worse than it seems.
