Refusing the offer, Rengoku had an intense fight with Akaza. Rengoku gave it his all But reached hit limit.Tanjiro realized things were getting worse when he looked at Rengoku.

Episode 7 Speculations and Discussion
The fight scenes between Rengoku and Akaza were stunning with the display of techniques. The Mugen Train arc has finally reached its end, and it’s exciting to see if there’ll be hints of the next arc for this season.
I like how the level of strength shown for an upper-rank demon is out of this world. How will Rengoku deal with Akaza being at his limits? Will Akaza be defeated, given the circumstances? All I can say is be prepared for the worst.
Rengoku will demonstrate his willpower being at his limits. With the fight coming to an end, Tanjiro and the slayers will witness the unexpected. As we too witness the Mugen Train arc’s final moments, let’s wait and see what the following episode brings us.

Episode 6 Recap
This episode continues with the train derailed off the tracks. Tanjiro fell off as the train got derailed, but Inosuke landed safely. Inosuke then checks if Tanjiro is okay. Tanjiro is fine but can’t move.
A piece of Enmu is seen disintegrating as he blames Tanjiro for ruining his plans and dies. As Tanjiro manages his breathing, Rengoku is impressed that he mastered the first technique of Total Concentration.
Tanjiro, guided by Rengoku, concentrates harder and stops the bleeding.
He also says the passengers are safe, some were injured, but no lives were lost. As things seemed to get better, another demon appeared. Tanjiro identifies the demon as the upper three and wonders why it appeared here.
Rengoku senses the demon’s aura and realizes the rank difference. The demon mentions that he’s here to talk to Rengoku. The Flame Hashira says he has nothing to talk about as he’s meeting the demon for the first time. The demon puts a proposal for him to become a demon.
The demon introduces himself as Akaza and tells Rengoku why he won’t reach the highest realm as a human. Rengoku states growing old and dying is what makes a human’s life precious and noble.
He then mentions how their sense of value differs and will not become a demon. Akaza then gets ready to fight using a blood demon art technique. He states that if Rengoku doesn’t want to become a demon, he’ll kill him. Akaza and Rengoku then get into a fight.
Tanjiro is astonished by how fast the fight is happening. Akaza mentions it pains him when someone with extraordinary powers declines his offer. He then uses another technique which strikes the air causing an aftereffect on the target.
Rengoku uses a fire breathing technique and blocks Akaza’s attacks. He realizes that fighting from a distance won’t help in severing the demon’s neck. Rengoku then dashes towards Akaza, and they start fighting. Akaza states that even with such speed, Rengoku won’t stop him.
Inosuke and Tanjiro try to help, but Rengoku tells them to stay back. As Rengoku and Akaza fight, Rengoku gets punched aside. Akaza mentions again about the offer, but Rengoku sticks to the same answer.
With that, Rengoku uses different fire-breathing forms to attack Akaza. As Rengoku keeps up with the techniques, he starts to get hurt by Akaza’s attacks. Rengoku uses a powerful fire breathing technique, but Akaza counters it with a destructive technique.
With this, Rengoku is badly hurt and is at his limits. Tanjiro, seeing Rengoku, understands the fight is heading in a bad direction. As Rengoku tries to maintain his breathing, Akaza seeing his state tells him to fight with him some more and not die on him.
