The final arc of Demon Slayer was announced last February, and the story will conclude very soon. In Tanjiro’s quest to turn Nezuko back into a human, he has progressed a lot. Still, unfortunately, every story must come to an end.
Raw scans of chapter 204 were released recently, which confirms that the manga is ending in the 24th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump.
Norma Editorial, the official licensor for the Spanish fans of the series, also announced in a live stream that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is ending in May. This comes as no shock as the main storyline has been completed with Muzan’s death.
Why did the manga end in a rush?
Upon further investigation about the inconsistencies in some panels, it seems that Koyoharu has rushed the ending part of the manga due to family issues. Koyoharu had to leave Tokyo as a result of this situation with her parents.

Demon Slayer Chapter 203 – Finale
So far, until chapter 203, Tanjiro has succeeded in his primary goal — to cure Nezuko and turn her back into a human.
After this, he, along with other members of the Demon Slayer Corps, was successful in killing Muzan Kibutsuji once and for all. The efforts of generations of Demon Slayers finally came to fruition as Muzan’s body withered away in the sunlight.
To defeat Muzan, Tanjiro used a technique passed down to him by his father – The 13th form of Hinokami Kagura. This is when the user continuously performs all twelve forms of breath style in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of their movements.
This form was created solely to kill Muzan. Since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan’s twelve vital organs. The 7 hearts and 5 brains that move freely inside his body thanks to his shape-shifting ability.
Muzan was initially cocky, but on noticing that he is slowing down, he realized that Lady Tamayo’s potion is aging him. The rate is about 50 years per minute, making him 9000 older in the last 3 hours.
With only one hour left before dawn, Tanjiro has to give it his all and keep up his cyclic attacks if he aims to defeat Muzan.
After Muzan was finally defeated, it was revealed that during the combat, Tanjiro had passed away, and Muzan’s consciousness was transferred over to Tanjiro.
This effectively created Tanjiro into a new Demon King. He could withstand sunlight – the first one to be able to do this so far. However, using another one of Lady Tamayo’s medicine, Tanjiro has now been turned back into a human.
With all the troubles out of the way, the manga will end with chapter 205 on 17/18th May in the 24th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump. Chapter 204 will show the Demon Slayer corps dissolving after the eradication of all demons.
