Koyoharu Gotoge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was one of the biggest anime sensations of 2019, bagging multiple titles since its release.
From outselling Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga after its decade long reign to having its opening theme be the most downloaded anime song of 2019, Demon Slayer has had a great year.
Following the news of Demon Slayer’s domination of Oricon’s weekly charts, it looks like the franchise has done the impossible and held the top 10 positions in weekly charts for an entire month.

Demon Slayer held the top 10 positions of Oricon’s weekly charts for the first time on the 27th January – 2nd February week.
The total estimated sales from the franchise during that week, according to Oricon, is around 1.23 billion yen. Including the physical print and digital releases, Demon Slayer has approximately 40 million copies in circulation as of February 2020.
In the 24th February – 1st March week, the franchise grossed around 917.2 million yen from physical print publications, CDs, Blu-ray Discs, and DVDs
The manga’s 19th volume sold around 1,378,361 copies to rank #1 on Oricon’s weekly sales chart (print) from 3rd to 9th February. Demon Slayer is the 3rd manga series to achieve this benchmark, after One Piece and Attack on Titan.
As if that wasn’t enough, all 19 volumes of the manga occupied the top 19 ranks in the 10th February – 16th February week. For the first time in the website’s history, a single franchise had occupied the top 19 spots. During that week, the 19th volume ranked #1 in the listings.
