Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is just a few hours away. Players can have a look at the new interfaces and files that will be coming soon as the content is already available for download. Surprisingly, the new weapons seem to have caught our eye.
If one wishes to unlock the M13B assault rifle, they will need to go to Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode, and defeat the “Chemist.”
The UI does not list any other alternative ways of obtaining the weapon so this is quite an interesting approach by Infinity Ward, and surely has left fans confused. If players purchase a store bundle consisting of a variant of the M13B, they may end up with the base weapon.
Just like every other Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2 will also introduce new weapons every season. In Season 1, gamers will get the fictionalized version of the Sig MCX weapons platform, with the M13B and Chimera ARs, the BAS-P submachine gun, and the Victus XMR sniper rifle, which is a standalone firearm with no additional platform choices.
The Sig MCX group was supposed to be available on launch day itself. However, Infinity Ward postponed its release to November 16 along with other Season 1 content. The BAS-P SMG was spotted a couple of times, usually in Alejandro Vargas’ hands, and even Ghost’s.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s weapon unlocks are unnecessarily difficult; players will be required to rank up every individual weapon to use its respective parts and attachments.
Infinity Ward is also interchanging weapon platforms. The Chimera is now a part of the Bruen Ops M13B weapon platform, whereas the rifle is not even closely associated with the Sig MCX in real life. Modern Warfare 2’s Gunsmith 2.0 will allow players to play around with their weapons, as long as the parts are interchangeable.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
