In episode two, titled “take 02,” platoon 11 tried to take out a Scarred but failed due to Shigure still getting used to the job and the Asylum.
Sumire is frustrated at Shigure for not doing his job correctly. Shigure later found out that Sumire was an idol but joined the Antarctic Front for a new start.
Platoon 11 repeated the mission and defeated the Scarred with the sanity anchor’s plan. Vera asked Shigure if he would take on an assassination mission.
What is Vera planning to show Shigure about his new job? Let’s find out as we bring you the latest episode updates of anime.
Episode 3 Discussion
With two episodes in, Deep Insanity: the Lost Child series is yet to reveal its actual plot. The latest episode only portrayed a character’s backstory.
Even though episode two felt a little better than the previous episode, viewers still wonder how the plot will unfold. I think it’s slowly getting to the main story of what the Antarctic Front is trying to do in the Asylum.
How do you think the following episodes will develop? Are they going to show more character stories or jump right to where it gets interesting?
The next episode might be interesting as Shigure faces an odd mission request by Vera. Let’s wait and see what the series brings in the next episode.

Episode 2 Recap
This episode starts with platoon 11 approaching a Scarred in the Asylum. The platoon realizes that Scarred is below them and asks Sumire to locate its next attack.
Sumire analyses the Scarred’s movements and tells Shigure and Kobato to aim at a certain point to shoot it. As the Scarred attacks, Shigure and Kabato shoot, but Shigure misses his shots.
Later, Sumire confronts Shigure about his ignorance to follow orders and inability to perform what is told. Shigure isn’t sure how he can be good when he hasn’t been trained for such tasks.
Leslie then talks with Shigure about how the members can be weird but do their job. Leslie then talks about Sumire, who wanted to be a sleeper but couldn’t because she couldn’t handle the Asylum’s environment.
Shigure mentions that sanity anchors are important as sleepers, and Leslie replies that Sumire might be jealous as she isn’t a sleeper. Later while on clean-up duty, Shigure finds an old magazine with Sumire as an idol on the cover.
Shigure approaches Sumire about her being an idol, but Sumire gets upset and leaves. Sumire later dreamed of when she was an idol, but then the scene changed to an explicit photoshoot waking her up.
Shigure confronts her and tells how he’s naïve to be a hero while he thinks it’s okay for Sumire to have a new start in the Antarctic Front. Leslie calls the platoon for the same mission, and Vera points out to follow the sanity anchor’s orders at all cost.
Sumire then sets a plan and tells Larry to be the bait to lure the Scarred out. Sumire tells Shigure and Kabato to finish the Scarred for good when she gives the signal. With the orders given, the platoon starts the task.
The Scarred appears as planned, and the platoon together takes it down. Later after the mission, Sumire chats with Shigure about being part of the platoon and how she understands reality better from an idol.
Sumire states that Shigure is good at affirming with others and says she’s happy to be the sanity anchor. Afterward, Shigure is called by Vera for a mission. Vera states that the task is required to assassinate someone.
