We have all either experienced high school or can imagine ourselves in that place – enjoying time with friends, having lunch, playing games, or chatting on the terrace. To your surprise, you suddenly notice a massive spaceship hovering above you. What would you do in such a situation?
An upcoming anime explores a similar scenario – it’s about the strange everyday life of an ordinary high school girl and her friend after a one-sided war broke out against harmless aliens.
While it might sound like the protagonists are on a mission to save humanity, the story actually has a much deeper meaning. The focus isn’t on the alien invasion but human nature and life.

About Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction
‘Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction,’ also abbreviated as DDDD, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Inio Asano. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic Spirits from April 2014 to February 2022. A two-part anime film adaptation produced by Production +h. is set to premiere in March and April 2024.
A giant spaceship appears over Tokyo three years before the story starts. A one-sided war against the seemingly harmless aliens ensues, sparking controversy and pacifism.
Despite this unique and tragic event, high school girls Koyama Kadode and Nakagawa Ouran behave like nothing has changed. They live their days like they always have. The focus of this story is not the alien invasion but human nature, dialogue, growing up, and life.
