Deathloop, Arkane Studios’ latest game since Prey, is all set to release in on May 21st, 2021, at least for the PS5. Previously the game had a vague release date, but now it seems that it will undoubtedly be released in the 1st half of 2021.
The game looks to be as promising as it gets, featuring an assassin that is stuck in an endless loop of life and death in some 1970s cityscape, with another assassin hot on his trails.
Not to mention, from the looks of it, the game will feature similar mechanics to the Dishonored series, so one can easily expect a good learning curve in what could be one of the best stealth and most unique stealth games in the genre.
Anyhow, Bethesda still hasn’t released an official date for the global launch of the game, but seeing as how the PS5 is already out in Australia along with all of its pre-orders, the official date for the release of Deathloop is upon us in an unofficial manner.
Many have already become a fan of this from the gameplay of it alone, as it seems to be inspired by Dishonored. Dishonored is already considered one of the best stealth first-person games that you can play right now, and with Deathloop looking like some kind of spin-off of the original series, the excitement behind it is really understandable.
Personally, I cannot wait for all those skilled players to get their hands on the game and showcase the capabilities of stealth in this game, the way they did with Dishonored. Trust me, those planned out kills without a doubt make the viewers go OOF for a second.
Also, considering how the game was initially scheduled for a 2020 release but had to delay due to a particularly lovely pandemic, it’s undoubtedly a relief to have an official release date at the very least.
About Deathloop
Deathloop is an upcoming first-person action-adventure game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.
The game revolves around Colt, an assassin that is stuck in a time loop and is given eight targets to finish off before midnight. However, should he die, he’ll restart the loop, retaining the memories of his previous loop. Not to mention, he also is a target of Julianna, who is tasked with protecting the time loop and stopping Colt.
Deathloop will be released on Windows and PlayStation 5 on May 21st, 2021, with the latter platform having a timed console-exclusivity to the game.
