The Death Note manga ended in 2006 and its anime was highly popular in 2006-2007. The series also had its live-action adaptation movie on Netflix in 2017. According to the writer, a sequel is in the making.
Last year, an announcement made the fans jump with joy as it was announced that after a long tiring wait of 12 years, a new Death Note chapter will be featured in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine.

Shueisha has officially revealed that the new 87 paged Death Note one-shot will be in the next issue of Jump SQ magazine and the story will take place after the original events of the series. The issue will go on sale on February 4.
This new issue will tell the story about how Ryuk’s Death Note fell to Earth. It will also be on the cover of Jump SQ with a coloured visual.
