Fans outside Japan must wait a long time for translated versions of their preferred media to get licensed or released abroad.
While subbed versions of animes and movies are available quickly, games released in Japan take a decent amount of time to be translated into English and published in the West.
Idea Factory had previously revealed a trailer for Death end re; Quest 2 on May 29 announcing an English release for the game.
Idea Factory International revealed through their press release on July 21 that they will release Compile Heart’s Death end re; Quest 2 game on PC via steam in North America ahead of its August 25 release.
The PC version of the game will be available to stream from August 18 instead of the original August 25 release date.
Death end re; Quest 2 Pc version will have the following key features
- The Overkill system that allows a player to tack damage beyond the health of an enemy for bonus experienceBerserker, a character who suddenly appears in the dungeon displaying an area of attack that the players must avoid. (Players are advised to run away from the Berserker)
- A day and night cycle, allowing players to gather information in the day and force them to fight monsters at night.
- Return of the Knockback System
The PC version available on Steam version will also contain the following bonuses:
- The original Glitch costumes for the first game’s characters
- subtitles in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese
- The first game’s characters appearing in the main menu and during battles only in their Glitch costumes
A separate Deluxe pack for PC will also go on sale containing:
- Two digital art books
- Six PC wallpapers
- A digital soundtrack
- A PC theme
The turn-based RPG game is still scheduled to launch physically and digitally on PS4 on August 25 in North America and August 28 in Europe. The console’s limited-edition version will offer a hardcover art book, novel, soundtrack, Wordsworth dorm bag, and exclusive trading card.
The horror-inspired game, Death end re;Quest 2 was initially released in Japan on February 13 withIdea Factory Internationalannouncing the English version of the game during the New Game+ Expo (NGPX) digital presentation on June 23.
