When talking about the gems of the horror and sci-fi genre, Dead Space certainly takes the honors. Even though it has been 13 years since the original Dead Space was first released, no other game managed to rack nerves quite like it.
The eerie aura it possessed, the spine-tingling Necromorphs it made us fight, and the innovative combat mechanics it housed – all concocted a legacy that remains unmatched to this day.
Therefore, when EA Motive revealed that a remake of 2008’s Dead Space was in the works, fans’ excitement knew no bounds. They wanted to get their hands on it without hesitation, but much to their dismay, the title did not have an official release date.
Thankfully now, things are set to change as Motive has finally fixed a date for the Dead Space remake’s launch.
As per a live stream from EA Motive, Dead Space remake will roll out on January 27, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The company promises that the upcoming title will honor the original Dead Space’s “thrilling vision” by reimagining its visuals and audio for a higher level of immersion.
“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves. It’s been equally exciting to see players’ reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us,”

Ducharme further added that Dead Space remake is making “great progress,” and has reached an alpha state. This explains why Motive went ahead and confidently settled on a release date that’s right at next year’s start.
In addition to confirming the release date, Motive also shared extended footage to give fans a glimpse at the title’s character model enhancements, lighting effects, environmental art along with visual factors like fog, smoke, and pyrotechnics.
In what is good news, EA Motive also claimed that it’ll share a lot more about the game in a “substantial way” in October. So, even though Dead Space remake’s release date is far, there should be no shortage of content in between this wait to keep us all hooked.

Dead Space follows the story of Isaac Clarke, an engineer on board an intergalactic mining ship called the USSG Ishimura. With the aliens turning the crew into one of their own, Isaac must fight through the hordes as he tries to find a way to get back to Earth.
The gameplay is reminiscent of the Resident Evil franchise, with inventory management being a key component. Players have access to a variety of mining tools that become weapons and must navigate the claustrophobic corridors of the Ishimura while fighting off the Necromorphs.
