The episode shows us the fight between Habaki and Taipei. But most importantly, we get a glimpse at Civil’s powers. Initially, Civil decided to let Habaki take care of Taipei, but as soon as he received a message from the elders, he changed his mind. He stepped into the fight and quickly knocked Taipei using magic. Corpse God mistook him for Arius Sabaramond by seeing the magic.
While Taipei was still down, the trio escaped and took the shark plushie, the real Polka, without anyone noticing. Conversely, the phantom Solitaire makes the name “Sabaramond” public through a video. We also get to see just how powerful Lulu is near the end of the episode.

2. Episode 10 Speculation
Episode 10 will be a “Rescue Polka” mission. Civil is so close to revealing Corpse god’s secrets, and yet so far. As long as Polka is with them, his life is in grave danger since the ‘Fire Breathing Bug” is also on their tail. If they consider the plushie as a key to open the gate to the other side of the sky, they’ll burn it.
Takeru also decides to help them find Civil, Lulu, and Habaki, even though he doesn’t know all the details. Being the man he is, he assigns someone to watch Polka’s actions. If Corpse God and Civil come face to face in the next episode, we can expect to see a lot of important information that we don’t yet know.
3. Recap of Episode 9
The episode starts from a few minutes back from where episode 8 ended. We see Taipei outside of Polka’s base and the office for the fortune-telling business. A Polaroid reporter approaches him, asking if he wants to meet Polka.
Taipei calls Takeru Shinoyama for permission about this and gets instructed to assist the reporter. The two of them enter the building, but as soon as they set foot inside, they feel the effects of Corpse God’s spell. They decide to ignore it and go in anyway since Taipei got the scent of the ones fighting their people.
Once they go upstairs, they are met with Misaki, who welcomes them. We get to know that the reporter’s name is Kouchou. But before Misaki and Kouchou understand anything, Taipei suddenly jumps towards the room’s entrance as he spots Habaki.
The two of them then start to fight as the others watch from the side, knowing they can’t stop these two. On the other side, at Solitaire’s base, he uses the hostage’s face and voice to make a video about the organization “Sabaramond” in hopes of luring them out.
At the police station, Iwanome deduces that the organization “Fire Breathing Bug’s use of fire for crimes might be linked with the cause of their revenge. Iwanome and his team were investigating this when they found an old police record about a massive fire in Shinjuku about 100 years ago, the same time the organization was first noticed.
Back at Polka’s office building, Civil steps into the fight to end it quickly. He uses magic to knock Taipei down. Corpse God recognizes the technique immediately and, for a moment, takes Civil for Arius Sabaramond. But soon, he understood that he is just one of the bastard children of Sabaramond.
While Taipei was still down, the trio made their escape and handed Corpse God a piece of jewelry as compensation for the trouble. Several minutes after they leave, Corpse God realizes the huge problem that has occurred. Even though Civil didn’t know about the real Polka possessing the shark plushie, she suspected something and swiftly stole it before escaping.
But Corpse God can still feel the connection, so he decides to keep an “eye” on them, quite literally. Once Civil, Habaki, and Lulu get to their base, the higher-ups tell Civil he needs to hide since the name Sabaramond is now public.
The people there point guns at Civil, but once they realize that he can’t be hurt with guns, they point them at Lulu instead. After they make this big mistake, we realize how strong Lulu is. The elemental spirit possessing her kills everyone there in the blink of an eye. Corpse God also says that the elemental is strong enough to level the whole city alone.

Dead Mount Death Play is a Japanese manga series written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto. It began serialization in October 2017 and has an anime television series adaptation slated for April 2023.
The story follows Corpse God who uses a reincarnation spell during his fight with the hero, Calamity Crusher. Corpse God is reborn in the body of Polka Shinoyama who has some assassins on his trail.
