This introductory chapter sets the stage for the series, challenging players to think logically and observe their surroundings carefully. Let’s escape this puzzle-filled train, one carriage at a time.

i. How To Solve The Puzzle in the Train First Carriage

To start, enter the blue neon-lit section of the terminal and begin Chapter One. Once inside, you’ll find yourself in a futuristic carriage with neon lights. Your goal is to crack the four-digit code to unlock the metal door.

  • Look for the ads on the back left seats. Next to the “Parking Lessons” ad, you’ll find a seating plan. Click on it.
  • Study the seating plan to understand the letter-number correspondence. This information will come handy later.
  • Look at the ad boards above the opposite seats and click on the ad to the left of the one showing a 75% graph.
  • Take note of the neon numbers and letters: A2, C6, B8, and A5. These indicate which seats to open.

Here’s what each seat code reveals:

  • A2: Click on the seat between the ‘Coff33 Morning’ and ‘Phoenix Messiah’ ads. (Seat 3)
  • C6: Click on the seat under ‘The Dragon Dimension’ with the dragon poster. (Seat 4)
  • B8: Go to the middle row of seats, farthest from the door. Open the third seat from the end. (Seat 7)
  • A5: Click on the seat below the ‘Spare Change’ and ‘Missing Dog’ ads. (Seat 9)

Combining these seat numbers reveals the code: 3479. Enter these numbers in sequence on the keypad next to the door, and you will proceed to the next train carriage.

ii. How To Solve The Puzzle in the Train Second Carriage

To exit the second carriage, you’ll need to obtain a keycard. Here’s how:

  • Find the machine in the second car that says “Input PIN Code for Quarter.” Look at the poster on the left side of the vending machine to find the item code (2C) and cost (50 cents).
  • Go back to the first carriage and turn left. Look for the ad poster with gears and a clock. The time on the clock is 12:35, which is the PIN code.
  • Return to the machine in the second car and enter the code (1235). Collect the quarter from the slot below the white screen.
  • Go back to the first carriage and proceed to the far end. On your left, you’ll see a pot with two bamboo plants. Find the quarter on the soil of the pot.
  • With 50 cents in hand, enter the code 2C on the vending machine and press the green button. Collect the dispensed keycard.

Use the keycard on the device next to the door to access the next train carriage.

iii. How To Solve The Puzzle in the Train Third Carriage

In the third carriage, your goal is to restore power and unlock the door.

  • When you interact with the keypad, it will cause a power outage. Use the flashlight in your inventory to search for the fuse.
  • Check under seats, starting with B6 in the first carriage. Place the fuse in the fuse box to the left of the door.
  • Go to the second carriage, turn right, and examine the ‘Gamic’ advertisement board. Note the circles indicating which switches to activate on the fuse box.
  • Return to the fuse box and activate the corresponding switches (2, 5, 7, 8, and 9).

Next, you’ll have to solve a morse code to find the code for the keypad. Here’s how:

  • Look at the Morse code displayed above the door. Go to the first carriage and observe the large flashing light at the rear.
  • Translate the light flashes into Morse code:
    • Quick flashes = dots
    • Longer flashes = dashes
  • The morse code translates to these numbers: 3967.

Enter the code (3967) on the numpad to unlock the door and proceed to the cockpit.

iv. How To Solve The Puzzle in the Train Fourth Carriage

You’ve reached the final puzzle. To stop the train, you need to enter a four-digit code on the numpad. Here’s how to solve it:

Step 1: Find the First Number

  • Look at the first poster near the door, depicting a hotel drawing with five stars.
  • Head to the first carriage and find the ‘Sevens’ hotel advertisement. So the first number in the code is 7.

Step 2: Find the Second Number

  • Examine the second poster, showing a mathematical operation with symbols and colors.
  • Notice the bamboo background and understand that the puzzle relates to bamboo numbers.
  • Count the bamboo in each carriage:
    • Third carriage: 6 bamboo in purple-lined pots.
    • Second carriage: 5 bamboo in green striped pots.
    • First carriage: 2 bamboo in yellow striped pots.
  • Apply the mathematical operation from the poster: (6 + 5) – 2 = 9. So the second number in the code is 9.

Step 3: Find the Third Number

  • Examine the third poster, which appears to be a meaningless scribble resembling a signature.
  • Return to the second carriage and look at the dining table. Note the scribbles and their corresponding numbers.
  • The symbol on the third poster corresponds to the number 4. So, the third number in the code is 4.

Step 4: Find the Fourth Number

  • Look at the fourth poster, which features a hangman game. The game is related to the cockpit room screens.
  • Transcribe the texts from the screens onto the corresponding rows in the hangman game:
    • Row 1: SOS (3 letters)
    • Row 2: ERROR (5 letters)
    • Row 3: BRAKES DISABLED (6+8 letters)
    • Row 4: DEAD END (4+3 letters)
    • Row 5: DANGER (6 letters)
    • Row 6: CRASH WARNING (5+7 letters)
  • Pick out the required letters from the above words:
    • Second letter of Row 1: O
    • Third letter of Row 5: N
    • Second-last letter of Row 3: E
  • Combine the letters to form the word “ONE,” which corresponds to the number 1. So, the fourth number in the code is 1.

Combine the four numbers to get the final code: 7941. Enter this code on the number pad in the cockpit room, then press the switch down to stop the train.
