DC Comics announced an upcoming video game spin-off titled DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace at this year’s DC FanDome.
A tie-in with the forthcoming DC League of Super-Pets animated movie, an announcement video for the game was launched, which is coming to PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) in Spring 2022.
The game will be set on a 3D on-rails shooter in Metropolis, where Superman’s dog, Krypto, is seen firing laser beams at robots, earning XPs for blasting them to smokes.
The game trailer did not show Batman’s dog, Ace, but the title suggests that he will surely be there fighting alongside Krypto.
Fans were quick to theorize that the color scheme of the robots, which is green and purple in the trailer, could be linked to Lex Luthor. However, it’s still unknown who the game’s main villain will be.
In the film, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart voice Krypto the Superdog and Ace the Bat-Hound, respectively. The voice cast also includes Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Keanu Reeves, and Marc Maron.
A global trailer for the film will launch in November, which will follow “the adventures of crime-fighting pets Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat and Ace the Bat-Hound.”
Written and directed by Jared Stern, DC League of Super-Pets is slated for a theatrical release on May 20, 2022.
