Danmachi Season 4 To Run Over Two Anime Cours
The official Japanese website for the DanMachi anime adaption revealed that the anime would return for season 4 part 2 in January 2023, only minutes after episode 11 completed its domestic broadcast.
“Danmachi IV: The Deepest Chapter will be released and televised starting January 2023!” stated the official statement, which was accompanied by a new key visual and animation trailer.
While supporters were naturally overjoyed, there had been indicators that season 4 was far from finished.
SugoiLITE, a popular Twitter page, announced on social media in June of last year that season 4 will be presented across two courses (slates) with a total of 22 episodes.
This leak was later updated by the page, which stated that “TV Anime “DanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV” (Season 4) – Second Cour dubbed “Deep Chapter: Calamity Arc”; Broadcast starts January 2023.”
Interestingly, there have been additional hints suggesting extra content for season 4 is in the works, rather than a straight renewal for a fifth season; notably, very few current anime series have only 11 episodes, with the average being 12, 13, or 24.
Not only has the anime adaptation not yet exhausted all of the available source material, but the series has also proved successful enough to warrant another airing. In Japan, 17 full Tankobon volumes of Fujino Omori’s original light novel series have been published, with volume 18 scheduled to be released on January 24, 2023.
DanMachi has also proven to be successful enough with the global fans to warrant another season on television. Prior to episode 12, the anime series’ most current season was rated 4.1/5 on Anime Planet, 76% on Anilist, and 7.68/10 on MyAnimeList.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, also known as DanMachi for short, is a Japanese light novel series written by Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda.
The story follows the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the Goddess Hestia. As the only member of the Hestia Familia, he works hard every day in the dungeon to make ends meet while seeking to improve himself.
He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life and fell in love with him.
He is unaware that several other girls, deities and mortals alike, also develop affections towards him, most notably Hestia herself. He also gains allies and improves himself with each new challenge he faces.
