House of the Dragon Episode 4 images reveal a much-awaited reunion of Rhaenyra Targaryen with her uncle, Daemon Targaryen. Episode 4 is all set to premiere on HBO Max on Monday.
The Game of Thrones spinoff premiered last month on HBO Max with rave reviews from critics. The series is set 172 years before the events of Game of Thrones and follows the rise and fall of House Targaryen, leading to the infamous civil war, the Dance of Dragons.
The first episode introduced us to Rhaenyra Targaryen, the heir to the Iron Throne, nominated by her father Viserys Targaryen. However, Daemon Targaryen, brother to Viserys and popularly known as the Rogue Prince, became a fan favorite very quickly.
Daemon left King’s Landing after Viserys ordered him to leave in Episode 1, eventually setting in Dragonstone. In the last episode, Daemon fought the Crab Feeder in the Stepstones and managed to secure an important victory against him.
Rhaenyra and Daemon last met in Episode 2, where the Princess approached her uncle to retrieve the dragon Dreamfyre’s egg, which he stole from the dragonkeep. The two have not crossed paths ever since.
It now appears that Daemon and Rhaenyra will reunite in King’s Landing in the upcoming Episode 4. New images shared by Watchers on the Wall feature Daemon returning to court with a crown on his head following his victory against the Crab Feeder.
The Episode 4 trailer had earlier revealed that Daemon was named King of the Narrow Sea after his victory.
However, these images offer a new look at Daemon and Rhaenyra’s tender reunion in King’s Landing. Check out the images below.
In the House of the Dragon premiere, Daemon and Rhaenyra visibly shared a special bond, but a rivalry began brewing between the two after Viserys defied the rules by naming Rhaenyra the heir to the Iron Throne.
After various time jumps, it seems like their relationship will be on the mend in Episode 4. In one of the images, Daemon is seen holding the Valyrian steel necklace that he gifted Rhaenyra in Episode 1.
According to the books, Daemon and Rhaenyra will share an incestuous relationship, as the two will get married. Their son, Aegon III will also play an important role in the upcoming battle, the Dance of Dragons.
The initial trailer for the show also hinted at a special relationship between the two. So, it seems like there is plenty to look forward to in the upcoming episodes of House of the Dragon. New episodes premiere on HBO Max every Monday.
