Developers at CD Projekt Red vowed to release new updates for Cyberpunk 2077 after fans holding high expectations were severely let-down. These updates will potentially improve the condition of the game and make it bug-free. One such patch that is set to release is Update 1.07.
1. What Will Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 1.07 bring?
As of now, CD Projekt Red has not provided any official word on what Update 1.07 will bring to Cyberpunk 2077. One can expect issues like crashing, stuttering/lag, and framerate drop, etc., to be addressed.
Every hotfix so far has significantly improved the game, most notably Update 1.06
Update 1.06 focused on glitches that took place while undergoing specific missions. For the console, CDPR fixed memory management, crashes, and made the game more stable.
Above all, the corruption of save files was stopped by update 1.06. Whenever a save file touched the 8MB mark, it used to go corrupt. This made players lose out on the progress they had made in the game.
i. File Size
Like update 1.05 and 1.06, Cyberpunk 2077’s update 1.07 should touch the 10GB mark on the PC. However, on consoles, the update can be as large as 20GB.
ii. Release date
Given that CDPR tends to release their updates every Friday, we expect update 1.07 to roll out on January 1st. If not on the first day of 2021, the update should release in the first week of January.
2. How to Update Cyberpunk to 1.07?
No matter which platform you play Cyberpunk 2077 on, installing update 1.07 is a relatively straightforward process. If automatic updates are on, you won’t have to do anything. The game will update as soon as the hotfix is out by the developers.
To update Cyberpunk 2077 manually:
- PC users can go to Steam or Epic or the store from which they bought the game. These digital stores will help players update the game.
- Console players will have to go to the menu and look for updates. As soon as update 1.07 is out, they’ll be able to install it.
About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
