The Olive Branch side quest in Cyberpunk 2077 will put you in a dilemma. A Russian gangster named Sergei will approach you and ask you to deliver a car to Tyger Claws as his peace offering. While driving the car to Claws, you’ll realize that someone is trapped in the trunk. The guy’s name is Alex, and he’ll ask you to let him out.
1. Set Alex Free or Keep Him Trapped?
Consequence of letting Alex out of the trunk
If you let Alex, a biotech engineer leave, he’ll pay you twice the amount the doubtful Russian, Sergei promised you. It’s up to you to decide whether you want double the money or you want to complete a promise made to a scum of the futuristic society.
Consequence of keeping Alex trapped in the trunk
If you are intact on honoring the deal made with Sergei, you’ll keep Alex trapped and take the car to Tyger Claws. However, these gangsters won’t accept the peace offering. They’ll be rude to you and Sergei’s gesture.
Since you completed the mission, you’ll be credited with the agreed-upon money.
If you are still wondering what to do, my advice is to betray Sergei and let Alex leave in Cyberpunk 2077’s Olive Branch. You will earn double the money and above all get to fool the evil and rude gangsters of Night City.
Note: Once you park the car upon reaching Claws’ location, you won’t be able to let Alex leave. If you want to set him free, decide before reaching the location.
2. About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
