It’s almost two years since the disappointing launch of the much-awaited Cyberpunk 2077. Below-par performance with plenty of issues and game-breaking bugs were just some of the reasons that piled on the disappointment CD Projekt Red’s game brought to us.
Since then, the developers have worked hard to bring the originally expected game to the audience, and I must say that the game is a really amazing experience as of now.
It has slowly started to reach the level it was supposed to, so maybe, wouldn’t now be an excellent time for a DLC? It turns out CD Projekt Red shares the same idea.
Cyberpunk 2077’s official Twitter account has just teased that an expansion DLC might be coming soon.
“Wann Cyberpunk-Expansion?” is German for “When Cyberpunk Expansion?”, which is actually very easy to guess even for non-German speakers. The tease came as a reply to CDPR designer Miles Tost, who in turn was replying to the official Witcher account.
The series of tweets started with a meme post by German Streamer Flo. There were earlier leaks of this DLC a while ago, but this tweet surely adds fuel to the fire.
Originally, CDPR had specified that it would only reveal news about an expansion DLC after the launch. But considering the problematic launch of the game, all DLC plans must have been postponed for long.
CDPR also dedicated a Cyberpunk DLC website, which till now only has news about cosmetic additions to the game. Cyberpunk 2077 also saw added attention as the opening Title sequence for the Netflix anime inspired by the game dropped last month.
Things are finally looking good for Cyberpunk 2077, and the game might even reach its originally expected peak, although there’s still a long way to go. We should expect more news on the DLC soon, maybe Gamescom this week would be a good time for CDPR to release more details.
About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
