Weapons are fun, but artifacts, items, and augmentations are what make an RPG special. Elden Ring has continued to enthrall players with its unique collection of items, consumables, and talismans.
While weapons and consumables are seemingly standard, the talisman part is where the game really shines. With immense freedom in allotting stats and creating characters, talismans make all the necessary difference. Each one is specialized, like the Axe Talisman.
1. Where to find the Axe Talisman in Elden Ring?
To acquire the Axe Talisman, follow these steps-
- Head to the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace (Southeast of Limgrave)
- Giddy up and head south towards the Mistwood Ruins.
- Defeat the Runebear in the Ruins to find a staircase leading into the ground.
- Descend the stairs to find an iron door.
- Open the door to find the chest with the Axe Talisman.
The Axe Talisman is one of the finer talismans you can snag very early on in the game. There are many talismans that seem to be of niche usage in Elden Ring. But some, like the Axe talisman, are extremely useful in bolstering up your damage.
To get to the Axe Talisman, teleport to the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace. You will have unlocked this area very early on in the game. From here on, head southward. In a short while, you will arrive at the Mistwood Ruins (you can spot it from a distance).
Be careful while traveling on this path. Although it is short and straightforward, it is perilous. There are Runebears on this path; they deal high damage, especially if you are in the early stages of the game.
Dodge them or defeat them all and enter the Mistwood Ruins. Here, you will spot another Runebear strategically placed as a guardian. You can sneak around it or defeat it to get to the staircase behind it.
The staircase leads underground and when you descend, you can see that there is a closed iron door in front of you. You can simply interact with this door; it will swing open. There lies a chest after you open the door. This chest is our goal as it has the Axe Talisman.
2. How is the Axe Talisman used?
The Axe Talisman is used as a damage booster equipment for those with heavy weaponry. It increases Charged Attack damage by 10%. The effect is limited to only melee weapons.
The Axe Talisman is a beginner-friendly talisman in Elden Ring. It is easy to use and doesn’t require difficult conditions to proc the effects. It is very simple: using Charged Attack gives you a 10% damage bonus. This is, of course, is restricted to Charged Attacks from melee weapons.
Fist-based weapons and heavy weapons are a perfect fit for the Axe Talisman. If you are a player who loves slamming or smashing into hordes of foes, this talisman can be very helpful to you. You will see big numbers pop up, much easier than before.
The weight required by the talisman is low at just 0.8, so no need to be worried about it being a burden. The 10% might seem measly and not all that great, but let’s not forget what a Charged Attack does.
A Charged Attack messes up the stance of the enemy, this means, even against Bosses or high HP enemies, you will have a better performance. You will be able to land more hits and preserve your own HP due to the stagger. (Imagine Bloodfiend’s Arm stagger on steroids).
Be careful, though- using Charged Attacks leaves you open to attacks from enemies. Increase and stabilize your poise so you are the one dishing out all the damage.
