Crysis has been the benchmark for gaming rigs since its release. Once you complete your build, it is mostly followed by the question, ‘Can it run Crysis?’. Now that might soon be changed due to the release of Crysis: Remastered.
Crysis: Remastered was supposed to release on July 23 on all platforms but was pushed back so that the developers could maintain high release standards and meet the fans’ expectations.
Now the producers have announced that the remastered version would now be an Epic Games Store exclusive and would come out on September 18.
Crysis was originally released back in 2007 for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360. Its graphics and enormous open world had set the standard for games of that period and had blown the competition out of the water.
Even the demanding specifications have now been immortalized as a meme.
Crytek is ready to bring the game back in all it’s glory through a remaster, and it wouldn’t just be a pretty shader, but a revamp that’s built from the ground up.
After facing backlash on the leaked trailer last month, the developers have taken some time and released a new trailer showing drastic changes to the game.
A side by side comparison in the trailer clearly shows the differences between the 2007 original edition and the remaster.
The new graphics are breathtaking for sure; the reflection on the water looks life-like while the greens feel more alive thanks to the 8K textures.
The remaster would be utilizing ray tracing to render the graphics, so if your GPU supports it be sure to turn it on.
Even though the trailer was quite short, it showcases other new features like the new light settings, depth fields, HDR support, and particle effects.
