The Twitter page of Crying Suns has officially announced that the game is being played by more than one million players across PC and Mobile. This is a massive and well-deserved achievement for the tactical rogue-lite game.
Crying Suns was first rolled out for iOS and Android mobile phones in September 2019 and then slowly expanded to PCs in June 2020. Ever since its release, the indie game has been the subject of positive reviews. The visuals and sound effects were especially the standout aspects of Crying Suns.
Frédéric Lopez, the Supervisor of the Art Direction, Communication, and Assets Production of Crying Suns said,
“The backdrop for the story in our game is a future civilization built by advanced artificial machines from top to bottom.”
Frédéric Lopez
“The question that interested us early on is what would happen to that civilization and the people living in it — people utterly dependent on the tech created by those advanced machines in every aspect of their lives from growing food to receiving medical treatment — if those machines one day suddenly and inexplicably shut down,”
Frédéric Lopez

Crying Suns will take you on a post-societal science fiction journey where you assume the role of a space fleet commander. While developing the game, developers Alt Shift took inspiration from classics like Dune and Foundation.
As you play, the plot will draw you in, making you want to dive deeper and unearth the galaxies’ secrets. You will lead by example and fight the other space fleets, interact with the inhabitants while venturing out in a dying galaxy.
The developers also released content and balancing updates named Advanced Tactics for the game. This further polished Crying Suns and ensured that playing the game would be a smooth ride.
All such factors made Crying Suns an underrated gem. However, now it’s fantastic to see the game getting the love it deserves. The player count has already surpassed the one million milestone and given Crying Suns’ beauty, the sky is the limit from here.
