Crunchyroll’s Best Boss Poll on Boss’ Day – Epic Dope

Crunchyroll has been dominating the Eastern Asian Animated streaming market for years. Its only function, however, isn’t only to serve as a streaming service. Crunchyroll doubles as a platform for Otakus to binge their favourite shows and as a forum for fans worldwide to share views and interact as a community.

Recently, a poll was started by Crunchyroll, asking the question: “If you had to choose which anime character you would want as your boss, which one would you choose?”. The fans rallied together and gave their views on which anime character they would prefer ordering them around. The final results of the poll, based on the popularity and general ability to be an amazing boss to fans, favours the Psycho Pass franchise.

They released the results of the poll on their twitter account, taking into account some not-so-bossy characters from franchises such as Psycho Pass, Case Closed, One Piece and Gintama.

The top 2 spots were filled by Akane and Nobuchika respectively. Gintama, the Lucky Beast, Rei, Wakabe, and Whitebeard also made it to the top of the list.

The poll was released on 16th October as a part of Japan’s celebration for Boss’ Day, a day where people celebrate bosses from all over the world, regardless of them being real or fictional. Even though bosses in fiction are generally shown to have a bit more anger and hostility than their real-life counterparts, the poll shows to us that there are many characters who people would love to have as their boss.

Personally, we would pick Shanks, the Yonkou, from One Piece as our boss. Shanks considers his crew his family, not to mention he is extremely powerful and was able to stop the Marineford war just by his presence.
