Rudeus was given a second chance at life when truck-kun isekai-d him from the human world and sparked the events of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
The season 1 finale made our hero realize that being a magically gifted child isn’t always going to help if he’s still stuck in his past life and scared of it. Rudeus resolves to set on another journey and find his missing mother, Zenith, to make up for his mistakes and not waste the opportunity he’s given.
If you thought that the finale was a bit somber, just wait until you see Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 anime’s latest trailer by Crunchyroll. The anime’s second season is set to come out in 2023.
By giving us snowfall, dried-up trees, and dead flowers, the trailer sets the dark and dull premise for the upcoming season. It is shown that Rudeus is the one traveling through the forest and can barely walk without his staff’s support.
The atmosphere suddenly changes when the video shows people enjoying themselves in a pub, followed by loads of hair-raising action.
Season 2 will be about Rudeus making new friends in the Ranoa Magic University, previewed in the trailer. The new characters making their debut at the academy’s students are Linia Dedoldia, Pursena Adoldia, Cliff Grimoire, and Elinalise Dragonroad.
Rudeus will also have fateful encounters with Zanoba, a person who is connected to his previous life in the human world. Not to forget, as teased at the end of season 1, Rudeus will also reunite with Sylphiette at last.
The other half of the trailer is a bit moving as Rudeus motivates himself to keep moving and how he has plenty of reasons to do so.
The upcoming season is a refreshing change from the gags and ecchi comedy the show usually has. This one will have more action and will be about things more important than being a hero.
I can’t wait to see how the whole magic university arc escalates.
About Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
“Jobless Reincarnation: I Will Seriously Try If I Go To Another World” is an isekai light novel series that was initially published on Shosetsuka ni Naro since November 2012 before Media Factory started publishing under its MF’s Book Imprint in January 2014.
The light novel series wreaked havoc, and it was a success; soon after, i.e., in May 2014, Media Factory started serialization in its magazine ‘Monthly Comic Flapper’. Many spin-off manga have been launched that connect with the same universe.
After more than half a decade, the light novel series was adapted into an anime television series by Studio Bind in 2021.
