Summary:
- Crunchyroll announced seven new anime that are added to its 2024 lineup.
- Most of the announced anime are isekai, which has massively disappointed the fans.
As we gear up for a new year, Crunchyroll has announced its new lineup for 2024. However, fans are less than excited about these new shows as they are primarily generic isekai. Japan needs to quit this trend before they frustrate its audience.
Crunchyroll announced seven new anime added to its 2024 lineup, including Quality Assurance in Another World and Tadaima, Okaeri.
1. An Archdemon’s Dilemma – How to Love Your Elf Bride
Production Studio – Brain’s Base
Being powerful doesn’t always guarantee excellent social skills, and that’s how Zagan’s life is. Since he is a feared entity, people avoid talking to him, resulting in poor communication skills.
When his wife, the elven slave girl Nephy, comes along, it becomes even more difficult for him to talk. Shyness mixed with his introverted personality and awkwardness only leads to some hilarious instances and misunderstandings between the two.
2. Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers
Production Studio – J.C. Staff
The story focuses on our protagonist, Banaza, who is summoned to the world of Klyrode as a hero candidate. However, he is found to have inadequate skills and is banished to a forest.
After slaying a slime, Banaza levels up and gets infinite stats, and using his new skill, he disguises himself as Flio. He wants to stay out of conflict, but fate has a funny way of dragging him in.
3. Quality Assurance in Another World
Production Studio – 100Studio; Studio Palette
The story follows a village girl, Nikola, who works at the inn until dragons attack, and she meets Haga, a scholar of everything around him.
Haga is a member of the “Seekers,” an elite group formed to solve several problems affecting their normally peaceful world. Yet both Nikola and Haga hide secrets that will affect the other’s life.
4. Re: Monster
Production Studio – Genco; Studio DEEN
The story focuses on how our protagonist is reincarnated as a Goblin in a different world after being killed by someone.
As a young Goblin, the protagonist comes to terms with his new reality and struggles to adapt to life in the harsh Goblin community. He learns to battle bizarre and dangerous creatures and connects strongly with his fellow Goblin companions.
5. Tadaima, Okaeri
Production Studio – Genco; Studio DEEN
The story focuses on the daily life of Masaki Fujiyoshi, a stay-at-home husband with no self-confidence, and his elite salaryman husband, Hiromu. The two have a son named Hikari. Together, they overcome life’s joy and sadness and become more of a “family” every day.
6. The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
Production Studio – Shin-Ei Animation
The anime features the story of Usato, a healing-type magic user. Usato gets drafted into the rescue team by Rose. He learns how to use his healing magic in unconventional ways to become stronger.
7. Vampire Dormitory
Production Studio – Studio Blanc
Vampire Dormitory features the story of Mito, who has no family to rely on and lives on the streets, disguised as a boy. Ruka, a vampire, saves her from a dangerous situation and makes her an offer.
He asks her to become his subservient thrall and can live with him in the boys’ dorm. She has to get through everyday hiding this secret, as her life depends on it.
This line-up mostly has sub-par isekai, except for Vampire Dormitory and Tadaima Okaeri. If you aren’t in the mood for isekai, you can opt to watch these instead.
