Infinite Crisis in the DC universe will turn everything upside down. Events in the show Flash show have all been leading up to the Crisis on Infinite Earth. The tampering of the timeline by Nora Allen brought forward the Crisis from the year 2024 to 2019. The event will affect the multiverse leading to some significant changes in the lives of our heroes.
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” is set to stretch across five episodes of all five Arrowverse series, beginning on December 8th and concluding on January 14th.
Show-runner Eric Wallace teased how the Crisis will affect everyone, promising something unexpected and something not so good lying in wait.
“It’s like stepping on a landmine. All of a sudden, the future is today, and that turns everything upside-down. You’ll see each member of Team Flash react in their own unique, and sometimes tragic, way.” Eric Wallace said.
Why is Crisis on Infinite Earth so significant?
Every year the Arrow-verse brings some crossover events and the culmination of stories of some of the heroes. But this one is special. The Crossover will involve Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning and the latest entry to the CW show list – Batwoman.
This time the plot of the event will be heavily tied to The Flash and will move towards the end of Oliver Queen’s story. The Arrow is heading towards its final season, and fans are waiting with bated breath.
What’s the Crisis is about?
The multiverse is in trouble and colliding with each other. The event is happening across the different universes and endangers all. The story is based on the Crisis on Infinite Earth comic, which virtually rebooted every DC story and character. It involves Anti-Monitor and his counter-part Monitor. The Crisis had a significant effect on the DC universe, which includes the death of Barry Allen(The Flash) and Wally West taking up his mantle.
The Arrow-verse is different from the comics, but someone inevitably sacrifices his life to save the multiverse. This is unlikely to be any different.
Update: Nora West-Allen returning for the Crisis
At the last marker, Nora West-Allen had been erased from the timeline in the Season 5 finale of The Flash. It was the end of her character in the Arrowverse, and we thought she was not coming back. There are talks that her character may be returning to the show, and her journey is not over in the Arrowverse. She is likely to appear in the big culmination event “Crisis on the Infinite Earths”.
Jessica Kennedy played the character of Nora West-Allen, aka XS. Critics reviewed her role positively, and this may have triggered her return to the Arrowverse. Her return to the show makes logical sense as she was the one who messed with the timeline and brought the Infinite Crisis five years earlier.
The wide-ranged timeline disputes and multiverses can be one of the few ways she can return. Her doppelganger from another alternate universe could appear and take her place. These kinds of situations have emerged in the Arrowverse and are handled anyway.
Earth-2 speedster Jay Garrick is returning for the Crisis
In the Arrowverse, when any character can return, chances are the explanations are a bit off. Dead characters can be bought back to life by introducing doppelgangers from other universes or time-loops.
Well now, CW has confirmed that John Wesley Shipp- the actor who played Jay Garrick from another Earth is returning for his role. Although his role and part in the plot of the five-part event remains hidden, it seems that he will be playing the same character and helping Flash and the other heroes against the Anti-Monitor.
