The Creed trilogy has come a long way from being a spinoff of the Rocky franchise, and the upcoming third instalment is upping the stakes. Michael B. Jordan returns to the role of Adonis Creed, boxing champion turned coach, but his past intends to knock him off his feet.
MGM released a new game spot at the Super Bowl, where the minute-long trailer gives us a peek at the upcoming fight between Jordan’s Adonis creed and Jonathan Majors’ Damian Anderson. Why don’t you watch the trailer before we talk all about it? You can view the video below:
As we know from previous updates about the film’s plot, Damian went to jail trying to cover for a young Adonis in his youth and is finally out. Majors’ character rejoined society only to find his friend at the top of his boxing career and is now “coming for everything.”
In the trailer, Donnie’s mom and wife warn him that Dame is not the friend who’s got Creed’s back anymore, and Donnie can’t “let him destroy everything you (Creed) have built.” The trailer offers multiple shots of both fighters preparing for their most significant battle yet, and we see one man, who has nothing to lose, face a man who has everything to lose.
2023 is most certainly the year of Jonathan Major as the rising actor makes his way to astonishing success with Creed 3, Ant-Man 3, and Magazine Dreams. Creed 3 seems like a mini MCU reunion party with Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan and Thor: Ragnarok’s Tessa Thompson.
Jordan is starring and directing the upcoming 2023 film, where we’ll also see the return of Wood Harris as Tony “Little Duke” Evans, Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago, Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne Creed, and Tony Bellew as “Pretty” Ricky Conlan.
New cast members include Jonathan Majors as Damian Anderson, Selenis Leyva, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Spence Moore II, Mila Davis-Kent, and Canelo Álvarez.
