With less than a week to go for a breath-taking finale of Stranger Things season 4, volume 2, the Duffer brothers have teased that it will likely be some character’s last ever season.
In a recent all-indulging interview with Variety, the creator duo opened up about multiple things. From 001 and Eleven’s timeline, Will’s sexuality, his forgotten birthday, and more.
The Duffer Brothers even teased the character deaths volume 2 might see. Although they did not explicitly mention that someone will die or take names, they did say that the audience needs to be “concerned.”
Stranger Things season 4 shed its previous goody-two-shoes kids’ mystery show and grew into a much scarier, more dangerous story. Ross Duffer emphasized this aspect, reminding viewers that it’s not just a kids’ supernatural show anymore.
“I don’t really want to say, but I would be concerned about the characters going into Volume 2, for sure. I hope that that is sort of the sense, because it is a darker season and the kids are no longer kids. So everybody is in danger. And there’s sort of an ominous feeling that things might not go well. Now, whether they do or not, you’ll have to watch.”

There have been multiple new character introductions in season 4. It makes one wonder if the deaths would involve someone from the original Hawkins group or new characters who are crucial to the story in their own right.
One thing’s for certain. The finale episode, which is of a feature-length duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes, will be an epic rollercoaster ride.
The cast members have also teased multiple things about the finale.
Noah Schnapp was the first one to confirm (and spoil) that there was a major death incoming, David Harbour (Jim Hopper) said that the finale is “a masterpiece” and fans will be blown away, while Joseph Quinn (Eddie) stated that it was “carnage.”
Only time will tell who will live and who will die. Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 episodes 8 and 9 will arrive on Netflix on July 1.
