Nagi and Erika are finally getting comfortable with their arranged “live-in” situation whilst getting to know each other in both stark and subtle ways.
The two are getting surprisingly comfortable with each other with Nagi making visible dents in Erika’s heart at the same time Erika seems to be making quite the cozy spot in Nagi’s.
A young romance seems to be on the brink of blossoming.
Episode 4 Speculations
The third episode definitely brought Erika and Nagi closer with the two actually showing concern and appreciation for each other.
Yet, it did the same with Hiro Segawa as she not only remembers his name but outright challenges him to a duel in practically everything a Japanese high schooler does.
The bonfire is ready and the sparks have already started to fly all we can do now is to wait and watch if this flame turns out to be a sparkling blaze or a dumpster fire.
In the next episode, we will definitely get to see Nagi answer his exams and will also quite possibly get his results.
Whatever happens next is totally dependent on his rank, if he by any chance comes first, the man is definitely going to confess to Hiro but if that does not happen, his desperation might just make him take a wilder course of action.

Episode 3 Recap
The third episode took us for quite the rollercoaster of a ride as the episode picked up right where we had left off.
Nagi and Erika have been forced by her dad into an arranged live-in sort of a situation that neither of them is okay with, but the nature of Erika’s or Nagi’s (pick your fancy, we’re just going to call them by their technical parentage and not biological), father, no further discussion was possible.
Left with no other options, the two decided upon one stringent rule, no getting involved with the other person, a rule that both the parties agree upon.
It wouldn’t be a drama show if the rule wasn’t immediately broken as Nagi is woken up by Erika’s scream that came from the bathroom.
Thinking that it could be a burglar, Nagi bursts in and in classic anime fashion, chances upon a relatively naked Erika who screams the door shut and then tells Nagi that the scream was due to a lizard and not Jason Vorhees himself.
That situation tides itself up but soon enough something new comes up.
Nagi who took the opportunity to study undisturbed found himself lost as his phone lost charge and he was stranded without a charger and couldn’t do anything about it. Conveniently so, Erika’s parents had sent a care package for her with everything including textbooks which Nagi couldn’t do without.
In his desperation, he strikes a deal with her as a penalty for getting involved with her business, he had to spend the day helping her take pictures for her social media.
After multiple shoots and a happy little accident that led to a cute picture of them together, the time comes for one last picture that Nagi absolutely nails.
Erika is surprised and asks him to do it again but he refuses so, she does the next best thing, hoses him down with water. That was one favor that Nagi did return in kind as the two of them spent the evening having fun.
Once the fun had run its course, Nagi questions his decisions but Erika is no fan of that as she questions the reason for his drive, Nagi answers with a half-truth and the two share a moment before the scene changes to that of the next morning.
The following morning, Nagi heads off to school with all his schoolmates sneering and jabbing at him about the open challenge he threw at Hito. Shaking it off, he makes his way to the shoe locker where he finds a badly written letter from Hito Segawa herself asking him to come to the roof after class.
After confirming that the letter is authentic, he goes there to meet with her.
Nagi expects a confession but what he gets instead is a challenge from his self-proclaimed rival which was the result of him finally beating her to the first rank in one exam.
Anyone else would be crestfallen but our Nagi seems quite into it as if he wanted that and nothing else from her.
With his exams on the horizon, Nagi is dead set on making it to the top but as his luck would have it, he falls ill and collapses while studying.
Erika takes care of him then and when he comes back to consciousness, tells him that his hard work has quite impressed her, something that he’d never heard in his life.
The arranged couple seems to be developing feelings for each other but is it truly for the best, what about the already confused Nagi and his dreams of dating Hito, and what about technically not his sister Sachi who clearly has feelings for him, find out in the next episode of this season’s Domestic Kanojo.
