Mass Effect Legendary Edition meets all the proper requirements gamers expect from a remaster, especially a remaster of one of the most popular trilogies of all time. But, it isn’t perfect as there were a few missing things that fans have had to add to the game using mods. One of those additions has been adding console commands with a mod.
Console commands allow you to make significant changes in the game, basically acting like cheat codes. Entering specific commands can get you things like bonus credits, unlimited Renegade/Paragon points, or even boosting your vehicle speed.
“Enable In-Game Console”, created by Mgamerz, allows players to use console commands in the Legendary Edition, giving you a way to make changes to your gameplay at any time. The installation process is a little complicated, so ensure that you follow the steps mentioned on the mod page. The developer has also stated that users will need to download a new version to be compatible with the updates that will be released for the game.
Now, this isn’t the first mod to add wanted features to the game. The graphical enhancements of the Legendary Edition are based on fan-made mods. Mac Walters from Bioware has confirmed that the devs had studied some fan-made mods and used them as minimum benchmarks for graphical enhancement. There was also some collaboration between the devs and modders to reach the targeted graphical levels.
The Legendary Edition also lacked an FOV slider. Having an FOV adjustment slider allows people to set their desired field of view, and some people even suffer from nausea when the field of view is too narrow. Luckily, a fan resolved the issue almost immediately who created a mod to add the functionality into the game.
Another mod affects one of the most popular features within the game, the romance system. Titled “Same Sex Mod for Default Sheps” it allows for gay romance options in the first Mass Effect game. The mod replaces the gender flag for Mass Effect and allows you to have m/m and f/f romances.
As people spend more time with the game, we expect to see more, and crazier, mods start to release.
About Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
The first three original games of the franchise: Mass Effect(2007), Mass Effect 2(2010), and Mass Effect 3(2012), will be fused together. The outcome of this amalgamation will be known as Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. These classic games of the past will be given a modern touch.
To make this game a fit for the modern hardware, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will carry a plethora of enhancements. Expect to see a game with improved revamped dynamic shadows, volumetrics, textures, redesigned character models, depth-of-field, etc.
