If you try to enter the Wishing Woods before starting the quest “Mysterious Wishing Woods,” you will be turned away at the entrance. Once you have your permit, you can find fishing spots for Palettetail in the Wishing Woods.
1.1 Buy Palettetail from Gooeybo
Now that you have unlocked the Wishing Woods go to Timis’s Beauty Lab and talk to Gooeybo. Make sure to buy at least one Palettetail. This purchase will help you track more and larger Palettetails easily. You can find Gooeybo’s exact location on the map provided.
1.2 Fishing in the Wishing Woods
After buying a Palettetail from Gooeybo open the Collections menu at the bottom-left corner of the screen. Select the fish tab, find Palettetail, and click the Track button.
A yellow circle will appear on the map. Move to this location and look for a circular disturbance in the water. Change to the Fishing ability outfit, cast your line into the disturbance, and reel in any fish you catch. The third fish you pull from the spot will be a Palettetail.
Once a fishing spot has been depleted, players will notice that the yellow circle shifts to a new location. Continue this process until you fulfill your requirements or deplete your stock of Palettetail.
