“Belly of the Beast” is the follow-up quest to “Friend of My Enemy” in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. You need to infiltrate an estate in Kyoto to retrieve some important papers. These papers are crucial for your mission, but actually locating them is where the challenge lies in this quest.
The estate where the papers are kept isn’t marked on the map, and given that Kyoto is quite a large city to navigate, makes the quest more time consuming and difficult. To simplify things, we have compiled the paper’s location and how you can complete this quest.
1. How to complete the Belly of the Beast Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Players can complete the Belly of the Beast quest by finding some confidential papers and giving them to Ise Sadaoki in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The Belly of the Beast begins right after you finish the main quest, Friend of My Enemy. First, return to Yamashiro, located north of Katano Castle, to find Ise Sadaoki. You can find him by the river under the bridge at the Hills of Meeting.
After talking to Ise Sadaoki, he will explain the plan to sneak into Honnoji Temple by hiding Naoe in a delivery cart. However, Naoe must get important papers to allow the cart to enter the guarded temple.
2. Location of the Papers

Players can find the papers to the west of the Nanban Temple, which is north of the Hills of Meeting, just across the river.

The papers are inside the building in the southeast corner. There is a crawlspace under the south wall that lets you get in. Act quickly and remove the guard next to the documents right after you exit the trap door. Once you have the papers, leave the yard and return to Ise Sadaoki in the Hills of Meeting for your next task.
3. About Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft, set to release in November 15, 2024. The game is the fourteenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as well as the first title to be included in the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform.
Set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period, the game will focus on the millennia-old struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control, from the perspective of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name.
