The brief 30-second trailer features some of the most iconic moments from season 1. From Rentaro praying for a girlfriend to him receiving his six girlfriends are showcased in the video.
Character designer Akane Yano drew an illustration to celebrate the news. The image features Rentarō Aijō, Hakari Hanazono, Karane Inda, Shizuka Yoshimoto, and Nano Eiai.
The whole premise of this show is absurd and extreme. However, that’s the entire point of the show, and the fans loved it. The popularity is evident in how fast the anime received its season 2.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You (100 Kanojo) often referred to simply as The 100 Girlfriends is a harem and romantic comedy manga series written by Rikito Nakamura and illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa.
It follows Rentaro Aijo who has confessed to 100 girls and has been rejected by all. As a last resort, he prays at a shrine for a girlfriend during his high school life but due to an error on the side of God of Love, Rentaro is destined to have 100 soulmates.
If Rentaro doesn’t accept a soulmate, she is fated to die in an accident. So, to save their lives, Rentaro decides to have a harem of 100 girlfriends.
