Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 3 update brought with it a whole bunch of new content that also lifted the game’s Verdansk map all the way back to 1984. But like most other big updates, the game also brought with it a fair share of bugs.
Now, most of the minor bugs like invisible buildings, map glitches etc. have been taken care of but a frustrating lag and “stutter” bug still remains alive and thriving on all platforms. Raven Software is consistently rotating through tasks on their Trello board, but many fans have found that the game is still stuttering on their end.
To this effect, Reddit user nalb1221 posted their complaint sharing that players continue to have lag and stutter problems even after the patch fix. The bug, as per nalb1221 causes sudden jumps in action.
For example, the player could be running at a door and find himself at the street outside a moment later. Nalb1221 also detailed another potentially deadly result of the bug where the parachute fails to deploy on time when they’re dropping in, leading to an unnecessary death.
The responses in the comments of the post also echo nalb1221’s sentiments with many fans reporting freezing and stuttering at the start of the season launch. The bug also infests Warzone’s firefights or intense action sequences and since a careful and well-timed response is crucial in these situations, this bug is more than just a minor annoyance.
Activision has acknowledged the issue in the past and has even released guides for fixing performance issues. But the connection issues are still far from worked out so a more significant fix is clearly the need of the hour.
However, there are some basic tips that players should keep in mind to help ease the irritation. These include resetting routers, checking NAT settings, and ensuring that the connection issue is not on the client-side.
But the fact still remains that fans have also noticed a drop in FPS since Season 3 launched. With so many issues still plaguing the game, many believe that it is a server-side issue that the developers need to take care of.
